Palindrome Day
January 2, 2010 Celebrate Palindrome Day (01/02/2010) Palindrome days are rarer than visits of Halley Comet. The last palindrome date was Oct 2, 2001 (10-02-2001) but the one before that came a full 620 years earlier, on Aug. 31, 1380, in the year Charles VI, the French king, declared no taxes forever.

You may know these famous palindromes.

Madam, I'm Adam.

Name no one man.

Able was I, ere I saw Elba.

A man, a plan, a canal: Panama.

Incidentally, this day has nothing to do with the Republican vice presidential candidate although Harass Sarah is rather interesting.

The rest of the world puts the day at beginning of their numerical date so they won't be celebrating their palindrome day until February 1 (01/02/2010.)
